Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel, we have been supporting older people for over 120 years. The charity provides care home and day care services for older people, as well as grants for older people in financial difficulty.

Set in the picturesque Essex village of Copford, near Colchester, New Copford Place is a purpose-built residential care home, staffed by a committed and enthusiastic team.

We are recruiting for a Care Assistant to join the team.

Joining us as a Care Assistant, you will help our residents with various tasks including:

Personal care.
Companionship.
Meal preparation.
Mobility.
Keeping care records up to date.

We would like our Care Assistant to join us with at least 6 months experience in a care home environment. Empathetic and respectful, self-motivated and flexible, you will be a team player who is always willing to go the extra mile, enabling our residents to lead fulfilled lives.

A Care Certificate or a minimum of Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care is desirable.

The Lawn is a beautiful Georgian period home in the rural village of Holybourne, Hampshire. From housekeeping to the care and management teams, all our staff are trained to the highest standard. We create a personalised care plan for each of our residents, ensuring that our enthusiastic, compassionate staff are able to meet everyone’s personal needs.

As a key member of our home’s management team, you’ll be the first friendly face people meet. You’ll work closely with the Care Home Manager, providing the support they need to help us deliver safe, high-quality care for our residents.

As our Office Manager, you’ll offer a confidential, accurate and efficient administrative service, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll handle financial tasks with care, making sure our income and expenditure processes are set up correctly and recorded clearly.

You’ll also help manage staff information and working hours, ensuring everything is completed on time and in line with our compliance standards. Alongside this, you’ll play an important role in recruitment, and support the planning of staff inductions, training and ongoing development – working closely with our central support teams.

We are looking for someone with experience in organising and providing efficient general administrative support. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you’ll have the ability to create and maintain positive relationships with all working partnerships and handle a wide range of enquiries in a timely and confidential manner.

With good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word and Excel, you’ll have experience in the implementation of new IT systems and training staff. Knowledge of Softworks would also be extremely beneficial in this role.

Are you a creative person looking for role where you can make a lasting difference to people experiencing homelessness in Reading?

We are looking for 2 Complex Caseworkers to join our Rough Sleeper team in Reading who provide intensive support to people with complex needs experiencing homelessness. This passionate team offer person centred support service to help people who require a specialist intervention approach to support them through the transition from rough sleeping into sustainable accommodation.

We currently have 2 opportunities available:

Supporting women experiencing homelessness, including those affected by violence against women and girls (VAWG).
Supporting a mixed cohort of clients experiencing homelessness with complex needs.

In both roles you will work collaboratively with the Rough Sleeper Navigator Coordinator and Outreach team as well as relevant partner agencies in Reading to deliver sustainable outcomes to clients.

You will advocate for clients who have been some of the most marginalised in the local area, to make a real and long lasting difference to their recovery.
You will be responsible for overseeing a caseload of clients and providing day to day support to clients with their transition from the streets into accommodation and independent living with a strong focus on tenancy sustainment and rescue.
This includes working with people on health, housing, employment and training support. You will be given support to build strong relationships with a range of other services to find creative and sustainable routes to recovery for clients.
You’re typical working hours will be Monday – Friday, with flexibility to work outside of these hours at times to support the team through SWEP.

About you

If you have good communication skills, with the ability to network and build effective relationships with a variety of people,

We will provide you with support, supervision and training so that you can develop the necessary skills to offer a high quality service to clients.

What you'll be doing

As a Care Practitioner, you'll:

Provide dignified, person-centred personal care and support in line with individual support plans.
Support individuals with health care needs and complete health care procedures following appropriate training and guidance.
Promote independence, self-help skills, community involvement and positive outcomes.
Recognise and appropriately respond to distressed behaviour, safeguarding concerns and changes in health or wellbeing.
Support colleagues, including staff who are new to the role or completing their probation.
Take on Shift Leader responsibilities when required, including delegating duties, supporting medication and stores processes, liaising with families and professionals, and escalating concerns appropriately.

You'll be supported throughout your development, with comprehensive induction, refresher training and opportunities to complete relevant professional qualifications such as an RQF/NVQ Level 2 or 3.

About you

You'll ideally have at least one year's experience in care and be ready to take on more responsibility and lead shifts.

Most importantly, you'll be caring, reliable and passionate about supporting people to live the lives they choose.

You'll also need to:

Be flexible to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Be comfortable working as part of a team and taking responsibility when required.
Have basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word and email.
Have good English reading and writing skills and basic numeracy.
Be physically able to carry out the role, including using hoists and pushing wheelchairs.

The role is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, references and successful completion of a 6-month probationary period, as well as all required training.

About the role…

We're looking for an experienced and customer-focused Senior Resident Liaison and Decant Officer to lead our Resident Liaison and Decant service and support residents through planned improvement works and temporary relocations. Working closely with our Asset Management, Operations Teams and contractor partners, you will ensure residents are fully informed, supported and engaged during major improvement projects including kitchens, bathrooms, roofing and external works, windows, doors, and other capital investment works.

This new role will provide leadership and support to our Resident Liaison and Decant Officers, ensuring a consistent, high-quality service and excellent resident experience across all programmes. You will play a key role in supporting programme delivery, coordinating resident engagement activities, managing complex cases and decants, mitigating project risks relating to resident access and satisfaction, and working collaboratively with contractors and internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.

What you'll be doing

Leading and supporting a team of Resident Liaison and Decant Officers supporting planned investment programmes.
Acting as the resident liaison lead across major works and capital investment projects.
Managing complex resident cases and vulnerable households to minimise disruption during works programmes.
Developing and implementing engagement and communication plans for investment programmes.
Supporting residents through complex planned works, temporary decants and home moves where required.
Working closely with Property teams, surveyors, project managers and contractors to support programme delivery.
Monitoring resident satisfaction, access performance, complaints and project feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Supporting contractor mobilisation, consultation events and resident meetings throughout project delivery.
Ensuring resident considerations are embedded in project planning, risk management and decision making.

What we're looking for

Significant experience in resident liaison, customer engagement or decant management within planned investment, capital works, regeneration or housing asset management environments.
A strong understanding of planned maintenance and investment programmes and their impact on residents.
Experience of working alongside contractors and project teams to deliver resident-focussed outcomes.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience leading, coaching or supporting resident liaison teams.
Experience managing complex cases, complaints and vulnerable resident support arrangements.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
