We are now seeking an Advanced Maths Practitioner to play a crucial role in supporting both Maths teachers and students to improve achievement and attainment for students resitting their GCSE Maths exams across the Group.



This role involves delivering targeted interventions, offering high-quality instructional support and developing strategies that help students improve their grades, particularly focusing on achieving high grades. You will work closely with teachers to enhance the overall learning experience and outcomes for resit GCSE students.



As our Advanced Maths Practitioner, we would like you to hold a degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics (or a closely related field), hold a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent) or have significant experience in teaching Mathematics at GCSE level. You will have strong knowledge of the GCSE Maths curriculum, with a particular focus on the content needed to achieve high grades (Grade 4 and above) and an in-depth understanding of the GCSE Mathematics exam specifications, assessment criteria, and grading system.



With a passion for improving student outcomes in Mathematics and committed to helping students achieve high grades, you will have experience of successfully monitoring and supporting “at-risk” learners to achieve or exceed their potential. Experienced in delivering effective one-to-one or small-group tutoring and targeted interventions, you will be a motivated, proactive, and results-oriented individual with a focus on continuous improvement. You will be proficient in using technology to support teaching and learning (e.g. interactive whiteboards, digital learning platforms, and online resources) with strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students and teachers.



This is a Group Wide post, therefore you will be required to travel to and work from all STCG sites



The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.

£45,661 - £50,000 per annum, plus up to 50 days + Bank Holidays
