Actual Salary: £26,718.41 per annum

Are you passionate about people, plants and helping communities grow?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Community Gardening Coordinator to lead and develop our Growing Together project and support the ongoing coordination of our green spaces and outdoor community hub,

This exciting and varied role combines practical gardening and community development. You will use our green spaces as a tool to bring people together to improve wellbeing and create opportunities for people to connect with nature, their neighbours and the local community.

Working closely with Alliance Homes Community Investment Team and the Our Neighbourhood Network project, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, you will coordinate a small team of freelance gardeners, nature-based practitioners, volunteers and community participants to ensure our outdoor spaces thrive and remain welcoming, inclusive environments for everyone.

This is a hands-on role that would suit someone who believes in the power of community, enjoys working outdoors, and understands how gardening and nature can create meaningful opportunities for engagement and personal growth.

About you

You’ll already have experience developing and leading community-based gardening projects. This will include planning, coordinating gardeners, volunteers and community groups whilst monitoring the project alongside managing budgets and reporting outcomes.

With a good understanding of Health and Safety and Asset-Based Community Development principles, you will be confident in delivering workshops and sessions within a small team, particularly in an outdoor environment.

You’ll also be comfortable coordinating freelancers, volunteers, and community groups, and be good at encouraging and motivating people outdoors.

You will be an ambassador for Alliance Homes and our values, continually seeking ways to improve our services and maximise the positive impact of our community spaces.

The role will require occasional weekend and evening work, to run or support community events.  Whilst the role is primarily based in Weston-super-Mare, you must have access to your own transport and be able to drive within the area in which Alliance Homes operates.

The successful candidate will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.

We review applications when received, so we may close the vacancy early if we find that perfect candidate. If the role interests you, then apply now. Previous applicants need not apply.
