South Thames College are seeking an experienced Electrical Installation lecturer to deliver outstanding quality in teaching, learning, assessment, and tutorial support to students, to maximise achievement and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in supporting the development of the curriculum, with employer engagement, and learner skills development.



You’ll create and implement innovative teaching, learning and assessment and deliver teaching and assessment activities within own area of specialism including lectures, setting/marking coursework, practical’s, and field work to Level 1 – Level 3 students.



We’d like you to hold a teaching qualification (or working towards), hold an Electrical Installation qualification (Level 3 or above), and have recent UK teaching experience in Electrical Installation in an FE College. With strong evidence of outstanding teaching, learning and assessment and a successful record of tutoring and supporting learners, you’ll have strong working knowledge of current framework for teaching, learning, assessment and quality assurance.



You will have proven experience of working in the Electrical industry, installing systems and equipment in a wide range of environments. You’ll be up to date in terms of technologies within the construction industry and be able to adopt different methods and strategies according to individuals’ learning abilities.



The salary will include a £10,000 uplift if the post holder holds the following qualifications:



A qualified teacher with a relevant Level 3 NVQ Electrotechnical qualification andhaving registration with the JIB as ‘Approved Electrician’ status or Eng-Tech status via the IET. In addition, you should have achieved a relevant recognised Level 3 assessor qualification e.g. TAQA. Please see the person specification for more detail.



The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.

£37,912 - £45,660 per annum, plus up to 53 days + Bank Holidays
