Role to commence from August 2025



This post will primarily teach across all levels Monday through to Friday, however these can be on variable hours contracts.



The current Counselling programmes at Kingston College sit within the Commercial Industries and Access School and provision includes a BA (Hons) Integrative Relational Counselling degree, a Mental Health Degree and study programme and part time adult Level 2 and Level 3 introductory courses, as well as a CPCAB Level 4 & Level 5 Diploma`s. Introductory courses are currently awarded by CPCAB (Level 2 and 3).



We’re now looking a Sessional Lecturer in Counselling to take responsibility for teaching, marking and providing tutorial support for Counselling courses.



We’d like you to hold a professional qualification to practise in Integrative Relational counselling or Psychotherapy, or Children & young people (minimum L6 Diploma or Honours Degree). You’ll be a practising member/registrant of BACP, UKCP, NCPS (an equivalent professional UK body), with 3 year’s post qualification experience, and have accreditation (or willing to work towards). With recent teaching experience and able to assess students’ work/ skills practice., you’ll hold a teaching qualification and a supervision qualification or experience of providing supervision to groups or individuals in a counselling or life coaching setting.



You’ll be creative, resourceful and an effective educator, able to convey knowledge, support the development of skills, support, challenge, mentor and motivate students and maintain boundaries. You’ll have the personal qualities required to be able to work conscientiously to a high standard, be well-organised and show attention to detail so as to plan, prepare and carry out administrative and other tasks effectively within deadlines. With good IT skills, you’ll respond flexibly to changing circumstances and demands, be resilient under pressure, open to new ideas and innovations and be creative in problem-solving.



The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.
